Study on Romans

By Steve Tackett

Romans is the basic doctrinal summary of the Apostle Paul. No wonder it is placed first in the canon of Scripture for the Pauline Epistles. Paul makes a theological argument of mankind’s inability to attain salvation in his fallen state. It establishes our dependence on God and not our reliance on our works or achievement. Ultimately, Paul concludes that mankind’s salvation is based upon the righteousness of Christ and our acceptance of the finished work of His death, burial, and resurrection. Understanding the literal, historical, and grammatical interpretation is critical to one’s understanding of “What must I do to be saved?”
