Understanding Scripture
While studying for his Master of Biblical Studies degree, Dave Greene was presented with a “theological crisis” within traditional theologies. Shortly after that, he discovered the “rightly dividing” he had learned was not complete. Throughout the program for his Doctor of Biblical Studies, he continued to research and test this. He made it the subject of his dissertation and, ultimately, published it into a book entitled Understanding Scripture. In the book, he examines three systems of theology prevalent in evangelical churches: existential, covenant, and dispensational. The results explained why there is such a drastic difference of interpretation within so many evangelical churches.
Although it presents a supposition and defends the conclusion as in any dissertation, it is written in everyday language. This book is an excellent resource for understanding what makes “rightly dividing the Word of Truth” to its ultimate completion meet “the test of truth.” Available on Amazon, Barns & Noble, and Books-A-Million
GALATIANS: DISPENSATIONALLY CONSIDERED
Galatians is a short but powerful epistle written by the Apostle Paul to the churches in Galatia. The purpose of his writing is that he is concerned with the news he has received that the Galatians have fallen from the purity of the gospel they received from him. Now, they are adding things to the original gospel which makes it another gospel which Paul dispels as not being a gospel at all. Author Steve Tackett is one of our GBN teachers. (the full video series on Galatians, from which this book was compiled with the help of Dr. David Alan Green, is available for viewing in our Videos & Audios section). Steve’s ability to make Scripture come alive is his calling. Whether an accomplished theologian or a believer seeking to understand the Bible, Steve proves lessons for all. We have received comments on his other books saying that they must be read more than once and, each time, something new is learned.
